Our vision. About us.

Mikaelsro is run by our family and together we realize dreams and develop new ideas around the farm.
Over the past three years, we have carefully renovated the various buildings together.

Our goal is to become a place in Jämtland’s nature where both we and our guests can find a feeling of home away from home.
A place to rest, to find a calm space within but also adventure and creativity.
The open fire has a central place on the farm, both to cook most of the food, with traditional Nordic recipes and experiment with different ways of preserving food. Here we create wonderful food, kissed by the fire together with our guests.

Anette Tamm
There is a good chance that you will find Anette barefoot in the woods around the farm with a basket of wild plants, a pen and a camera. She has published 2 books about the Viking age, around home and hearth.

She is a versatile food creator with a focus on our Nordic traditions and food culture. She is also a trained yoga teacher and plays the Gong and other sound healing instruments.

Mikael Paulsson

Mickeborgen or Jämtborgen are about 10 minutes walk from the farm. This is Mikael’s private residence which is completely “off grid.” It is an exciting wooden building in the form of a castle. Borgen is Mikael’s place to”just be” when he rests after long work shifts in Stockholm. Without Mikael, there is no Mikaelsro.
He can fix nearly anything. Do you want to land your own plane/helicopter nearby or have a hot tub fixed for a late-night dip?
Just let us know!

Jacqueline Tamm Lundell is an interior designer and color/light designer. It is her hand and feeling that designed the various beautiful cottages and rooms on the farm. Jacqueline loves to create beauty, whether it’s a cool table setting or a themed party /
corporate event or wedding.

Patrik Lundell is a counselor at a school in Stockholm and he is passionate about various children’s activities and physical adventures. Patrik love to run and physical exercise and in
the future, he will also leave his mark on the Mikaelsro, in the form of various physical and adventurous activities around the farm.
Let us know when you book and we’ll email his best
running tips in the surroundings around the farm.

Volunteers and Work away

Mikaelsro is far from ready, and perhaps it will never be completely done. Our dreams change and new projects want to be created.

A few weeks during the year we welcome volunteers/ work away, to stay with us.
We offer food and room here on the farm for your work effort, four hours a day, 5 days a week.
Help may be needed with the crops/vegetable garden, different tasks around retreats, cooking, cleaning or miner painting/repair tasks.

E-mail Anette directly and ask about the possibility to come here as a work away.
